What are we ThInKiNg........

Take a deep breath.......... So here we GoOOoooO.........We are slammed packed full of ideas, creativity, and feel the need to find a path, even if it jigs and jags! We decided, get a bunch of girls together, drinks some wine, hit the road, go to prom, give our self a name, and buy a bus!! And let me tell you,  if we decide something, then consider it done or about to happen. All our husbands can do is roll their eyes, gripe a lot, and then stand back and give us room.....(Yes they think we are CrAzY! But don't all men think women are crazy?)

So whats our name? You might ask........ We are the Southern Jitneys!! Yes that's right, we are Southern, from East Texas and proud of it!! We love our rolling hills, green beautiful oak and pine trees, our land that stretches out with bob wire fences, and No Trespassing or you'll be shot signs. Don't mess with us, cause we are sweet as pie country girls, that are also packing in more ways than one, so watch out!! Jitneys??? Yeah it took us a while to come up with that..... We needed something to go with our outgoing, live life to the fullest, Artsy, gaudy decor, clothing and might I add, pearls, pearls, and more pearls attitude. On top of that throw in a BUS! What word could capture all of this? Well that's how you get Jitney! In the 20's Jitney was a bus or van, so that explains the bus. Now, Jitney refers to ragged, tacky, gaudy, or overdecorated, and that's how we roll, baby!

Who is we? I thought you would never ask........ We are Christian, Christie, Kelly, and Tara, a group of girls that like to have girls night, go junkin, and create something amazing out of nothin, with the over flow of imagination running between our souls. So basically, we LoVe to drive our husbands out of their minds. (Well we don't love to do that, but it just happens)  We are all in different stages in our marriages, so we lean on each other when things are good, bad, and indifferent. Kelly has been married 20 years. (Well San Anton..... That's a long time! So Kelly is our go to when we need advice!) I (Christie) have been married 10 years and we were together 5 years before that. (So we pretty much make each other InSaNe! Sometimes in a good way and sometimes in a bad) Christian has been married to my brother in law for 3 years (just a little more info: Christian robed the cradle, her Love is 3 years younger) Tara has been married to my hard headed little brother 1 year. (I feel so sorry for Tara sometimes, for having to put with his moody butt, but I still love him) Our husbands love us deeply, and we love them deeply too.....most of the time.

How did this all begin? Well let me tell ya........ We were having a CLASSY Garage sale, and Kelly said, "She had always wanted to go to Round Top!" It's this Big Antique Show spread between several towns. They have Bed and Breakfast's, you can walk around and drink margaritas, dress crazy, and go to prom!! Oh my GoOdNeSs, whats not to like? So right then and there we looked up places to stay and booked a hotel! Had we asked our husband yet? No. Was that going to stop us? No. I mean Kelly had always wanted to go and now we wanted to go, so why wait, why not go! So we informed our husbands, found babysitters, packed our bags, hooked Tumble Weed Sally, (Kelly's turquoise horse trailer) and hit the road jack, but we're coming back! Oh yeah, but we had to prepare. We couldn't go without our shopping buggies,(which is a little collapsible buggy, that people use in Canton on First Monday) so we put crazy material on them, blinged them out, and hung a humongous brightly colored flower on it.Was that the end? Well heck no, we had to have a cooler to hold our Beverley's, as Christian would say..... So the Gaudiness begins. We blinged it, put glittery flowers all over it, and it couldn't be without a Boa!! Then packed our Blinged out Redneck Wine Glasses, that sweet Tara had made us. Now, Ready, Set, GOOooOO! We get there, thinking everyone is going to be just like us. (Crazy Looking) Well we were WrOnG!! No one even had buggies....... WHAT the HECK??? I mean, what were they going to do with the stuff they bought, Carry it around?? I don't think sOOOooO! Needless to say, our buggies were the bomb! People wanted to take pictures of us and with us, I'm not joking, I'm serious. We had our pictures taken like a thousand times........ Craziness, I know. Then we pull out our Blinged out Redneck Wine Glasses and Jitney Cooler and everyone was asking were we got it and if they could buy it.... It was so fun and funny! Then we decided that we wanted to have a booth at Round Top next season. What can I say, if we think it, then we do it...... no questions ask, except where to stay.

So next seasons is a month away........ Kelly gets asked to set up a booth in ZAPP HALL a month before. She says, YeS of course and Tara and I tag along. We decide to stay in a travel trailer this time, problem is that none of us have ever pulled a travel trailer. This does not detour us from our mission. We could do it, we know we could, we can do anything we want to do. But.......... Our husbands do not have faith in our driving skills, so Kelly's husband, Big Daddy (yeah thats right I said Big Daddy), is gonna pull it down there for us and my Honey is going to drag it back. Do they do this without gripping, UMMM NO! Do they do it none the less, Ummmm yes. SooOOOoo here we GoOOoOo!! Big Daddy is in the lead pulling the fabulous travel trailer, (as we are about to leave telling us, "It's not to late to get a hotel") Kelly following pulling the cow trailer, (packed with all her Unique, brightly colored, cowgirl furniture, signs, T-shirts and Gaudy jewelry) Tara behind her, pulling Tumble Weed Sally, (Stuffed to the rim with bright, glistening Christmas Wreaths pokin out the cracks) then there is me in my Nitro.(Packed to the max, with whatever else we might need) We make it with out any problems............ yeah right!  But we are there, we are set up, we said we would, and we did. There we are in ZAPP HALL, having Sangria Popsicles, and Breaking EVEN......

Explain the BUS? Alrighty......... Well, there is this bus that's rotten away in my father in laws pasture.(That in it's self is another story) Christian's Love owns it. We decided, we need this bus.......Weeeee NEED it! We know...... we can make it FaBuLoUs!  So do we get the bus? Well yeah...... Who do you think you are talking to? As you can already tell, I'm sure, if we can dream it up, then we can make it happen. So why dream small? Why dream like everyone else? Why not BELIEVE in yourself? Because of fear? Because you might fail? Because other people might judge you? Because you might seem silly? YOu MiGhT....... be scared, fail, be judged, be silly.......but who cares!!! If it makes you laugh, have a good time, create new friends, live life, try new things, over come obstacles, love your family..... then its worth it, I think..... But what do I know, I'm just one of the Southern Jitneys..........

Keep on Road Trippin,
Christie
